Toy Borrowing

Terms of Membership

Borrowing Toys

  1. A maximum of 4 toys, regardless of family size, can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks.

  1. A member may renew toy loans once only. This ensures that popular toys are available to other members’ children. To renew loans, members must come in person to the BFB Library or e-mail bfbtoylibrary@gmail.com.

  1. All members will be registered with the online BFB Library toy catalogue, available through our Lend Engine account, via the following link: http://bfbtoylibrary.lend-engine-app.com/.

Deposit

  1. A deposit of BN$5 will be collected at the start of each loan session, and will be returned once the toys are returned in reasonable order, with all pieces, and within the loan time frame.

  1. If a member forgets to return a toy after 2 weeks, they may extend their loan for 2 weeks. After this time, if the toy is not returned, the deposit will be lost; no toys may be borrowed until the missing toy is returned.

  1. If a toy or pieces thereof are lost or broken beyond the ‘usual wear and tear’, then the deposit will be lost.

  1. If a member loses their deposit three times, then their membership will be frozen until the BFB Library librarians have discussed and determined the future of their membership.

Looking After Toys

  1. Please enjoy and look after our toys. Please return them in reasonable working order with all their parts.

  1. Members are politely asked not to exchange toys with other members / friends, or to borrow toys on their behalf.

  1. The BFB Library is not responsible for providing batteries whilst a toy is loaned out to you. The librarian will ensure the toy is in working order before you borrow it. However, if batteries run out during the loan period, we kindly request that you replace them.

  1. Please make sure the toys are returned clean. The BFB Library librarian will help you with this, and provide detergent and wipes in accordance with our cleaning policy.
